Avni Mahila Mandal of NTPC Gadarwara visited Government Primary School in Ukri Village in Chichli Block, Narsinghpur District on 23rd February 2024.

The interaction with the school students and teachers was planned under the guidance of Smt. Anu Soni, President, Avni Mahila Mandal along with other esteemed office-bearers of the group.

Smt. Anu Soni, President, Avni Mahila Mandal interacted with school children, and discussed in detail about the syllabus, classroom facilities as well as vocational training which should be made available to the students.

She said, "Girls should be supported to complete their education and should be given equal opportunities as boys of their age. Parents should be counselled in a way to not force their daughters to quit their schooling and adequate transport facilities should pe provided to pick up and drop girls who attend school in nearby villages.

In addition to this, Smt. Anu Soni, President, Avni Mahila Mandal also took initiative to start sewing classes for the girls of class 9 and onwards as a part of skill upgradation as well as women empowerment.

At the end of the visit, students were distributed notebooks, pencils as well as sweets.

Regular visits like these are being taken by Avni Mahila Mandal frequently and it is a crucial initiative to identify the villages, conduct an overall visit to determine the quality of education being imparted there so that they can plan prudently about supporting the existing educational infrastructure over these places.
